Firstly, competition has become intense. More and more companies are entering the market place with a greater variety of goods than ever before. As a result of this, the consumer has also become more sophisticated.
Secondly, rapidly charging technology has caused products to become obsolete very quickly. All this has happened in a span of 30 years. In information technology we see for every month new computer systems are developed.
Thirdly, resources are becoming scarcer. With fewer resources and more expensive resources, it becomes important for a company to manufacture and market precisely those products that the market place demands.
Fourthly, world trade barriers are being dismantled at an increasingly fast pace. With Eastern Europe also gearing up for an open market economic order and India’s inability to reduce imports of essential goods, seeking international markets will be more difficult task now than ever before. These form factors in most cases exert simultaneous pressures on a company. Additionally, with the growth of consumerism, the consumer has become more demanding and discerning.
