Today the payment services provider Social Gold announced a new partnership with online Flash games portal miniclipz.net. The partnership will incorporate Social Gold for Flash into all 550 Miniclip Flash games. Social Gold for Flash enables secure in-app micro transactions in Flash games, as well as white label virtual currency and a suite of analytics tools.
Miniclip serves a community of about 57 million players, making it the largest online games portal in the world. Founded in 2001, Miniclip is one of the oldest operating game portals. It has been profitable for seven years running and operates in 15 different languages, with players scattered throughout the globe. It is not clear as of this writing how many of the 550 Miniclip games currently feature micro transactions.
Social Gold rolled out its payment solution for Flash late year, hot on the heels of competitors Heyzap and Mochi Media. Since then Mochi Media has become the subject of an $80 million buyout by Shanda, while Heyzap has focused on adding viral features and analytics to its platform.
